Since Easter was early this year, April proved a great month to fit in a Ladies-only event in light of the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday, but also to gather all ladies together for Fellowship. We had a delightful Ladies Tea on Saturday, April 20th with 16 women in attendance. I pulled out my teacup collection and brought it along with a host of other tea-like dishes, plates and accoutrements to create a tea room in the Upper Hall. We had a wonderful time with Pam Bennett’s homemade scones, mini sandwiches and pastries, salad, quiche and of course tea! Speaker Christie Purifoy spoke to us using her garden and the Garden of Eden as a metaphor for Heaven on Earth and in our lives. We were inspired and refreshed in this calm and joyful time together.
As we move through Spring into Summer, Fellowship activities slow down a bit, but we still have a few fun things to do before we take a break.
The Strawberry Festival is coming on June 2nd in combination with Children’s Day. We hope to have a nice turn out as well as vibrant volunteerism to bring the strawberry shortcake ingredients we love in June. Look for a sign-up outside of the upper hall to bring the ingredients to make this a success.
Coffee Hour over the summer can still continue with your help. As attendance drops we offer a simple coffee pop-up station in the narthex and need volunteers to make coffee and put it out in the front. No food necessary. Look for the sign-up sheet/Sign-Up Genius for this coming soon.
If you are interested in helping with the planning and execution for the Strawberry Festival, Chicken BBQ or Adult Dinner in the fall, please reach out to me. We’d love to have your help.
